And so it is.

The conferences and congresses that take place throughout the year are, shall we say, low key compared to Monaco's neighbour along the coast.

Having said that, these meetings are world renowned for their content and for attracting key players. That's why many of the events centre on finance and insurance, banking and investment. Monaco also attracts its fair share of medical conferences and scientific symposiums.

But it's not all too serious - there's the annual Music Awards and Sportel, an sports marketing and television meeting on the lighter side.
