Notes from Cannes: What’s in and what’s out in the restaurant world?

The Michelin 2019 Guide has just been published and contains a few surprises. Of course, no one is privilege to the reasons why, but suffice to say, inclusion almost always guarantees good food and efficient service.

New

  • Mimi (Italian)
  • l’Eponyme (contemporary)

Changes to rating

  • Le Park 45 (grand hotel)

Missing from the Michelin guide

We were surprised not to see some reliable favourites among Cannes’ restaurants in the Guide this year.

  • Fouquet’s and la Petite Maison de Nicole at Hotel Majestic (but still in Gault Millau)
  • Le 360° at the Radisson Blu
  • Le Relais at Hotel Martinez (but still in Gault Millau)
  • Le Roof at Hotel 5 Seas (but still in Gault Millau)
  • La Cave (but still in Gault Millau)
  • Le Caveau 30
